Moorish Community Center, Inc. founded April 7, 1998 by a group of members of the Moorish Science Temple of America, Inc. These members are lifelong members of the organization. The Moorish Science Temple of America, Inc. is a religious corporation whose purpose is to uplift fallen humanity. Being members of such an organization they felt more could be done in the area of human service. They organized a committee to establish a nonprofit organization and thus the Moorish Community Center, Inc. was born.
Our Purpose:
To plan, implement and manage a non-sectarian community based program in Chicago, Illinois which will provide for the spiritual, physical, intellectual, economic, educational, cultural and artistic well being of residence within the inner city of Chicago, Illinois. To also, engage in, and deliver programs and services which will provide for, and insure the primary importance of the individual, their access to human development, freedom, and widest possible choices. To also provide access to economic opportunity and development for a responsible relationship to society. To further the growth of an individual's inner life, the capacity to love and engage in such other activities. And finally, to instill the values of love, truth, peace, freedom and justice.
Our Mission:

Help promote a positive image through out the community with cultural activities.

To contribute to the family units well being, development and improvement through parental involvement as program participants and volunteers.

To actively contribute to the reduction and/or elimination of delinquency and crime within the community.

To actively involve the business, corporate and private sector communities toward the effective achievements of the aforementioned.
